Thank You to All Applicants

From all of us here on the SEB board we thank everyone that applied to the board for the next academic year. We look forward to those that we hire and most of all we wish the best of luck to everybody.

Richard Shoge

President

I am a fifth year senior majoring in mechanical engineering. After graduation I plan to go to medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon. My hobbies are playing soccer and listening to music. I am excited to lead the Student Events Board for the 2004-2005 academic year and can guarantee bigger and better events in the coming year.

Sean Colbert-Kelly

Vice-President

Wassup. My name is Sean Colbert-Kelly and I am currently a senior with a major in mathematics and minor in computer science. I am from Springdale, MD in PG County. This is my second year on the Student Events Board and I am the Vice President this year. I enjoy bowling, movies (horror is my favorite), listening to music (Reggae dancehall is my favorite), traveling, hanging out with friends, eating, and chillin once in a while. My future plans are to obtain a PhD in applied mathematics making six figures to support my sexy wife and ten kids living in a mansion on acres of land, driving many cars.

Nabila Bashir-Bello

Treasurer

Hi, my name is Nabila Bashir-Bello and I am the Treasurer for SEB 04/05. I am now a junior majoring in Bioinformatics and a minoring in Mathematics. I love music a lot. I listen to everything from Beyonce to Evanescence. I love to dance, which doesn't mean I am very good at it, and I love to go for concerts. I am down for anything that involves music. I am Nigerian by the way and I'll love to be of help if anyone needs me. You can e-mail me at nabila2@umbc.edu, bye.

Eric Grollman

Eric is new to the SEB family, as this is his first year working as Secretary. He will bring his skills and experience as Secretary of Freedom Alliance during the 2003-2004 school year. Outside of SEB, Eric also serves on the Executive Board of the First Year Council and represents SEB and The Retriever in SGA as the Charter Organizations Representative. Eric is now a sophomore at UMBC currently studying Psychology and Sociology. He plans to graduate from UMBC and move onto graduate school, possibly in student affairs or higher education. Outside of school and involvement, Eric likes to spend time with friends, listen to music, write, take pictures, wasting time on the computer, shopping, and any other non-productive activities.

Gretchen Schultz

Promotions Director

Gretchen Schultz is a junior and it's her first year being part of SEB. She is a promotions director who sometimes has a love-hate relationship with her own designs. She is a Graphic Design major and Art History minor. She would love to hear any suggestions anyone might have regarding ways to better promote SEB events on campus. you can e-mail her at gretch1@umbc.edu.

Christine Ramsay

Promotions Director

Christine's very excited to be on the board for the first time! She looks forward to promoting all the great events SEB has to offer UMBC! She is a junior this year, majoring in Visual Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design. Besides becoming a designer, Christine dreams of being a Rock Star with her band, The Johnnycakes. Her life motto is: "You were born an original, don't die a copy." Feel free to say hi if you ever see her on campus, just say "Meer!" and you'll have her full attention!

I love music, especially Latin music and its "Sabor!" I enjoy doing fun things and livin life to the fullest.

Anusha Natarajan

Programmer

Hey everybody, my name is Anusha and I will be a junior at UMBC next year. I'm a biology/psychology major, which sounds fancy, but really is just a psychology major with a concentration in biology. This will be my first year in SEB, and I'm definately looking forward to working with a cool group of people. My many talents include sleeping, watching movies, and generally goofing off until I realize I have crazy work to do and not enough time to do it. At 20 years old, I have perfected this. You can find me either at the SEB office, SUS front desk, Dr. Mcguire's lab, or my apartment (and at class occasionally too, if you look really hard).

Steven Stone

Programmer

Steven Stone is a junior chemistry major and a 2nd year programmer on SEB. Although his hair is not as green as it used to be and not as pointy, he continues to bring an outgoing personality and opinion to everything that SEB does. He is a proud member of SEB and hopes to branch out from his line of programming last year into more programs not involoving music.

Shavonda Thomas

Programmer

I am a Computer Science major. This is my fourth year on the board, yeah I'm an old head. I am a programmer(event coordinator) for SEB. I am also the community service and cultural chair for Zeta Sigma Chi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. SEB has given me the opportunity to work with a group of creative people who enjoy comig up with new and exciting events for the students every year.

Becky Pon

Programmer

Becky is a first year programer for SEB who is entering her junior year at UMBC as a sociology major. When asked what she's going to with her degree Becky usually replies enthusiastically saying, "I don't know." You can usually find her in class, eating, sleeping in, studying, or scuba diving in the 13 foot UMBC diving well. Becky's future plans include graduate school, scuba diving around the world, not remembering her 21st birthday and growing at least 3 more inches. Becky is also the coolest programmer who ever lived, but she doesn't realize it yet!

Board Member?

SEB is the student programming board at UMBC. SEB is funded through student activities fees and its primary focus is to provide high quality programs to UMBC students. SEB members act as representatives for the UMBC student body and are employees of the University. A Student Events Board Member (SEB’er) is, first and foremost, a student leader. SEB members assist in the planning and implementation of social and educational programs for the UMBC community. SEB members are vital in creating a vibrant campus environment for all students. In addition to working with students and their organizations, SEB members work closely with many departments on campus. SEB is advised by a staff member in the Office of Student Life.

Becoming a Board Member

Though the acceptance for applications has already past for the 2005-2006 academic year, we will be looking for board members for 2006-2007 next spring. You can learn more about it by looking at the application for next year. But don't think you can't be a part of SEB, the super committee is the best and easiest way to have an impact.
