IE7B Float Box Clip Bug

With the release of IE7 beta, I tested my new site in it. I found that it did an almost perfect job. The most noticeable problem was that the header for the page was getting clipped about half way down. I reduced it to a simple problem with negative margins and floating. I had my h1 inside my content and clipping was caused by the content floating with the h1 having negative margins to push it outside the box of the float. The clipping does not occur when using a different (and more appropriate method) such as relative positioning and using top and left.

SVG Safari

Scalar Vector Graphics has just been landed in Safari webcore branch. They now join Mozilla and Opera for support of SVG.

Soon we will be able to have non-square links, have a webpage that looks like an Illustrator file, and Javascript will be also interact with it and more.

IE7 (Moz) RSS Icon

The IEBlog annouces the new syndicated feed (RSS) icon. It just happens to be the Firefox icon already.

IE, Mozilla, and Opera agree to make changes to make them more secure and trustworthy. They have agreed to changing the color of the address bar to green for when visiting websites that are trustworthy. Pop-up windows will no longer be able to get rid of the address bar and status bar this will allow people to more easier check which website the page is from. Another reason why should get out of the habit of opening Javascript pop-up windows.
