  1. TechCrunch goes crazy over an IFRAME

TechCrunch devoted an article to an IFRAME with borders in Gmail. Sadly people sound a little loopy. It is just an IFRAME with the id of “sound_frame” (which you can guess deals with sound) with borders. Since it has no width or height, the default beveled borders are creating the effect.

  2. Update on the Mojebus redesign

Read the previous post for better insight. I will not make you wait so check out the latest update.
There are three relative minor updates. I have fleshed out the text styling by adding list styles. I have adding extra white space between content and comments which causes the comments to move off my […]

  3. The start of Mojebus redesign

It has been a year since I started thinking about redesigning my website. Finally I have started. I am going to try to do the redesign publicly as I can without having my site out of service. I have a few goals for the redesign.

Evolve the current design. Instead of starting fresh, I am going […]

  4. Now I am excited

I am a dork for getting so excited after reading a short blog post from David Baron. A bunch of nice selectors have been landed in the branch of Mozilla. They are :nth-child(), :nth-last-child(), :nth-of-type(), :nth-last-of-type() :first-of-type, :last-of-type, and :only-of-type.

  5. Oops iMovie

I use iMovie maybe every two months. Much to my surprise, I discovered for the past nine months I have been using the older version of iMovies. This is because I use Quicksilver to launch it and I thought the new version was actually an older version.
    Why is this?

They dropped the HD in the […]

  6. QVC Loads Your Dell Computer With Expensive Open-Source Software

Tonight I watched a bit of the QVC Dell Computer sales pitch. Part of the pitch was the expensive software which comes pre-installed. I noticed the following Open Office 2.0, Sunbird Calendar, and Thunderbird Email.

  7. Firefox 3b and Blocked Downloads

When I installed Firefox 3b5 on Windows Vista, I could no longer download files because they were marked as possible malware. The download window would show the file with the message, “Blocked: Download may contain a virus or spyware.” I tried changing the security settings, as suggested, to no avail. I gave up on it […]

  8. Drupal module admin interfaces

For about four weeks now, I have been playing around off and on with Drupal. What impresses me the most about Drupal is it seems more forward thinking about what a CMS is compared to most other systems I have seen. But my one big gripe is the admin interfaces for many of the modules […]

  9. Did I really get this email?

I received this email today at work and I am amazed. To quote my coworker, “what an ass.”
    To: Seamus Leahy
    Good morning, Seamus:
We recently sent you some very important email information on (February 6th & April 3rd) with a couple of followup phone calls. We previously provided this informaiotn [sic] to [previous person with the […]

  10. Grid Based Web Design Examples

A good collection of inspirations forgrid based web designs. I have already been using several of them as grid inspiration as it relates to the work at my job.
